The Riviera Theatre was built in 1925 as a moving pictures theatre in the then fashionable West Adams district of Los Angeles. During a full renovation and restoration of the building several old liquor bottles and newspapers were found inside the walls. Local neighbors shared their stories of how after midnight the theatre became a speakeasy during the Prohibition years.

Renamed the Freemont Theatre in 1945, and now almost 100 years later, The Riviera Theatre has been reborn with warm hardwood floors and exposed brick walls accentuated with soft cement. Walk through ancient Chinese village doors into the expansive grand space. Overhead, the high exposed original wood beams and trusses make the space open and airy. Carry on through large custom double doors into an open outdoor space. The buildings layout allows for endless creative possibilities for your next event.
